Kindergarten

At Lerner, kindergarten is a nurturing environment that builds the academic, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and creative foundations for confidence and success in elementary school and beyond.

The kindergarten students participate in every curricular strand that continues throughout the elementary school, and they have a tremendous amount of fun while they learn. Language Arts instruction encourages the children to persist and succeed as they build their reading and writing skills.

Math ties daily experiences to fundamental concept learning. Science is hands-on and boldly experimental. Social Studies helps bridge personal experiences with the community within and beyond the school. Hebrew is immersive and joyous, and Judaic Studies provides lessons in ethical behavior in concert with fundamental Jewish values.

In addition to these core curricula, the kindergarten students enjoy joining in mixed grade level electives, as well as art, music, and PE. The “Investigators” truly live up to their name, as they explore the world in a deliberate, structured, guided fashion but arrive at their own individualized results.
